Crest Hill, Illinois – The 8th Annual Christmas Celebration Broadcast will take place this Saturday, December 5, 2015 beginning at 1:05pm at the WJOL Studios, 2410 Caton Farm Rd., Crest Hill, Illinois. Musical performers and special guests will enjoy a VIP reception that starts at 12:30pm. Listeners can simply tune in to 1340AM WJOL during show time to hear the show and listen for call in times to win prizes. The show will also stream online via wjol.com.
The annual Christmas Celebration Broadcast started 8 years ago as a fun singing contest on Marilyn’s Café Society Radio show and quickly evolved to a much anticipated musical showcase of Christmas favorites. Saturday’s line-up includes Grammy nominated jazz musician and his quartet, Robert Kase; international jazz bassist, Bernard Harris with features from Kora and Rubi Green, the daughters of legendary R&B singer, Al Green ; and Joliet’s very own singing sensation, Rosella Dario. Rumor has it that Marilyn of Marilyn’s Café Society may even sing.
Marilyn said, “Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year and I love putting this Christmas show together. It’s so much fun anticipating what the end result of all the planning will be.” For the last 6 years, Marilyn has shared a portion of the proceeds with families and/or individuals who may need a little extra help during the Christmas season. And so, not only will WJOL Radio, Marilyn’s Café Society, the singers, and sponsors be celebrating the Season of Giving with the gift of music this Saturday; they also will be giving a helping hand to a lucky family or individual.
There’s still room for just a few more people if you’d like to come out to support. Call 815-341-5336 or send email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
