During Café News, I reported that more than 600,000 Americans signed up for insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act in the first 4 days of the new enrollment period despite the Trump Administration’s effort to undo much of the 2010 law.  Also, during a speaking engagement at an Axios event in Philadelphia, the former founder of Facebook and Napster co-founder, Sean Parker, admitted that Facebook was created to become addictive.  Be sure to check out the audio here

Speaking of Facebook, Café Talk’s topic was…Are you addicted to Social Media?  Sharon and I chimed in and read a few social media responses to the question.

I then chatted with Sharon about her role with the NHBW-Joliet which led to her talking about the upcoming 26th Founders Day event (the Gold Star Gala).  Click here for the audio.

The sixth – 12 Saturdays Til Christmas Gift Bag was then given away!  I also reminded everyone to mark their calendars for the 10th annual Christmas Celebration Broadcast.

*The Attorney General of South Dakota has sent a request to the United States Supreme Court to review whether it can collect sales taxes from out-of-state internet retailers and 35 other states have backed their request. Typically, an online retailer only has to collect sales tax in states where they have a physical presence, such as a storefront or a distribution center. That loophole cost states $17.2 billion in lost sales taxes last year, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. And now they (meaning the states) want to collect.

Café Talk – How much was the biggest tip that you left a waitress/waiter while dining out?

Inspiration behind Cafe Talk is a article that I read in USA Today about the big $1,000 tip that a waitress received from Christie Teigen!  We all chimed in and read a few social media responses to the question

We chatted with Jim Chuporak about his singing career, singing groups, and upcoming performance with the Christmas Celebration Broadcast.  I can’t wait for you all to hear him!

The fifth – 12 Saturdays Til Christmas Gift Bag was given away!  Then, we quickly took a look at what was trending on Social Media.  Number one trending…EMP Drill Days!
