MCS Radio Show Recap- Saturday, November 18th, 2018
Hello! It’s me with more recaps of older radio shows and blogging. I hope you’re well. So far we’ve had a very interesting year. I hope that you’re keeping up with the YouTube shows that I’ve hosted since sometime in February. The first few videos were posted on Facebook only. Be sure to visit both and like and subscribe. The links are at the end of this post.
1st Hour: Brianna was guest co-host.
On this day in history…
*In 1883, the U. S. adopted the Standard Time and set up four (4) zones— Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific. It was all due to America’s railroad system and the ability to do long distance traveling.
*In 1928, Mickey Mouse appeared for the first time in Steamboat Willie, with Walt Disney himself doing the voice.
*In 1963, push-button telephones made their debut commercially. Despite this dynamic debut, the rotary dial phones remained customers favorite for many more years.
Brianna presented Born on this day. Here’s a few…
*in 1923, Alan Shepard, the first American in space
*in 1942, Linda Evans, actress
*in 1970, Mike Epps, actor/comedian
Cafe News consisted of alarming stories of sexual assault and violence are coming out. Also, the offices of the Chicago Tribune have moved. Be sure to check out the audio here.
Café Talk: Brianna and I chimed in. Do you have or will you buy a Christmas tree that’s not the traditional color of green? We also read a few social media responses to the question. The color purple was the most popular.
Another 12 Saturdays Til Christmas Gift Bag was then given away! Listeners were also reminded to get their tickets for the Colors of Christmas Concert at the Rialto and to tune in for the 10th Annual Christmas Celebration Broadcast event on Saturday, December 2nd.
2nd Hour: Brianna shared Entertainment News. The audio is here.
By 12:30pm we had to wrap due to a scheduled High School Football game. No show next week due to Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament. Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
