Friends, I hope that you are enjoying and making the good of this unplanned “time out” that we all are experiencing. More importantly, I pray that you and your loved ones are safe and well. For the most part, I and my loved ones are well thank God! However, I feel like I’m in a fog. And quite honestly, this “foggy” feeling started well before this Covid 19 pandemic.
Fog is described as a cloud of small water droplets that is suspended in the air near the Earth’s surface. Fog is known to reduce or cover visibility. I, now, admit that I have overwhelmed myself into a “fog”. On top of the COVID 19 pandemic happening, work responsibilities; the rigors of producing a weekly show; the discipline of writing this weekly blog; reading the self improvement books/programs/seminars; managing the day-to-day responsibilities of life; maintaining relationships; solving or resolving problems; overcoming health challenges; praying for others to overcome health challenges; and just always doing something to feel “productive”; has left me feeling stressed and “foggy”. I have been operating in reduced visibility and at times couldn’t even see at all. I just kept doing, kept going, and kept working in a “fog”. My goodness, I thank God for carrying me!
Yes, ironically, I now “see” that I’ve been functioning, producing, and achieving all while in a “fog”. The good news is that this “time out” situation has presented opportunity for some of the fog to dissipate. I slept in until about 9am this morning. I didn’t look at any COVID 19 updates. I reduced my screen and device time. I stepped out in the yard and took in some sun. I baked a cake. I listened to good music. I sipped champagne. I attended virtual Wednesday night church service. I finished this blog.
Friends, are you or have you been in “a fog” too? If so, thank God for keeping you! And, know that when overwhelmed, it’s okay to take a “time out” to help clear the fog. Please continue to stay safe and be well.
