Show Love (Gifts)

Hello everyone.  This will be the last blog post on how to show love–at least for now.  Oh, and by the way, I hope that you all are having a wonderful week.  Okay. The focus this time is on “showing love” by giving gifts.

Why do people get so excited about birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries, etc.?  Some would say because they all present an opportunity to spend fun time with all the people that you love and care about.  Others would say because 9 times out of 10, you can expect to get a gift!  Well, both are correct!  Listen, we all enjoy a good party (especially with those that we love and who love us); and we all enjoy receiving gifts.  It’s a win, win OR love, love situation. So, is it okay to purchase gifts for business associates, neighbors, co-workers, clients, customers, etc.?   Yes!  However, be careful.  You don’t want to go against company policy, be accused of bribery, flirting, or worse.   I suggest that you give gifts around holidays, birthdays, and work or business anniversaries.  For those who have been with my show for a while, you know that I conduct give-a-aways from time to time and particularly around the Christmas season.  It is just another way that I show my listeners/viewers that I truly love and appreciate them.  Do the gifts have to be material?  No.  Keep in mind that sharing crucial information is a gift; a smile is a gift; and any other meaningful gesture is a gift.

My friends, to wrap things up on this blog series, spending time is a gift; serving others is a gift; affirming words are a gift; and material, tangible items are gifts.  Best of all, Love is the gift. The gift that keeps on giving!  Now go!  Show some Love!  Also, remember to strengthen your immune system by eating healthy and taking a good multi-vitamin; wear your mask; watch your distance; and wash your hands often.  Stay Safe.  Be well.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.  And, so it is.

Show Love (Words)

Friends, I do not know how the weather is where you are but here in the Midwest, it’s officially winter season!  I mean we have been getting hit with lots of snow and frigid temps in the past two weeks.  Okay.  Okay.  I know.  What do you expect, Marilyn?  It IS winter!!!  So, moving right along.  This week, you all, the focus is on the importance of “showing love” through using words.

Who doesn’t like to hear the words “I Love You” especially when it is authentic and genuine?  Hmmm.  I hear Stevie Wonder singing it right now!  “I just called, to say, I love you…”.  How do you express love verbally to co-workers, clients, customer, business associates, etc.?  You can actually say, “I love you”.  Or if you don’t feel comfortable expressing love that way verbally, say something like “You are awesome” or “Great job” or “I enjoy working with you” or “I’m glad that you’re my neighbor”.  Listen, just about any positive, uplifting, affirming word(s) will do.  Just be sincere about it!  Everyone now and then, I’ll say “Hello Georgeous” or “Hello Beautiful” to little ones just to see their faces and eyes light up!! I’m sure it works for grown-ups too! Ummm.  I hear lyrics to another popular R&B song– “if you love me, say it…”.

Look, my friends, using affirming words to express love is just as important as spending time with and serving others in your world.  Hey, have I told you how amazing you are lately?  Friends, you are indeed amazing!  Now, remember to strengthen your immune system by eating healthy and take a good multi-vitamin; wear your mask; watch your distance; and wash your hands often.  Stay Safe.  Be well.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.  And, so it is.

Show Love. (Serve)

Friends, how are you?  Are you feeling or better yet experiencing LOVE so far this month?  Remember, we are all about showing love this month and evermore!  Last week the focus was on the love action of spending time.  This week I am going to share how important it is to “show love” by serving.

Now listen, you know how loved you feel when your loved one(s) go out of their way to do something for you.  Whether it’s taking over cooking duties, driving you to a location that you may not be familiar with, or assisting with your business plan or a work project; you can attest that that particular help or service causes you to feel special, right?  Well, you, too, can “show love” through service to loved ones, co-workers, colleagues, business associates or partners, clients, customers, neighbors, or even humanity in general.  Volunteer or serve in an organization whose cause you believe in; give your client/customer an added value service; or simply ask—how can I be of service to you?

Booker T. Washington once said, “Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others”.  Mohammad Ali said, “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth”. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Life’s most urgent question is: What are you doing for others?”  And finally, Jesus said in Matthew 7:12, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.   You all, to love is to serve.

So, my friends, invest time and be of service to those important to you.  It’s all love.  Remember to strengthen your immune system by eating healthy and take a good multi-vitamin; wear your mask; watch your distance; and wash your hands often.  Stay Safe.  Be well.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.  And, so it is.

Show Love. (Time)

Happy Love month my friends!  How do I love you or how do you love me?  Let me count the ways.  In other words, let me show you or you show me!  Yes, love is both a noun and a verb.  And, if you’ve been with my show for a while, you know that we’ve talked about the different types of love as well as the types of love languages on an occasion or two.  Today, however, I’d like to focus on important ways to “show love”.

When it comes to ourselves, loved ones, co-workers, colleagues, business partners, clients, customers, neighbors, or any other relationship(s) that we want to strengthen, we cannot only verbally express appreciation or love but we must “show love”.  One way to do so is by sharing our time.  You’ve heard this before, right?  Not only is time money but time is also love!

As we continue to travel through this life, we have to make time for our own growth, self-development, and self-care.  The same is true to foster healthy, loving relationships with family members and friends.  There’s no better way to show love to them than by spending quality and quantitative time.  I don’t know about you all but I absolutely cherish the moments that I spend with my loved ones whether in person, on the phone, zoom, or otherwise.  Having been in the universe for several decades now, I truly have learned the importance of being present.  Listen, believe it or not you all, your co-workers, colleagues, clients, etc. want to be shown love too!  Take them to lunch or in these days have a virtual breakfast, lunch, or dinner date.  Or, just pick up the phone and shoot a text or make a call and chat it up for a bit.  Everyone understands that life can be very busy so even a 10-15 minute check-in will be appreciated.

So listen, as we continue to work to manifest our blessing(s), remember to literally take time to “show love”.  Also, remember strengthen your immune system by eating healthy and take a good multi-vitamin; wear your mask; watch your distance; and wash your hands often.  Stay Safe.  Be well.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.  And, so it is.
